Sustainable Direction Ltd to co-Present at Project Challenge, NEC

Sustainable Direction's Managing Director, Dr. John Henry Looney, will be a featured presenter along with Ian Firth, Design & Contracts Manager, Sheffield Teaching Hospital (STH) NHS Trust, at the upcoming Project Challenge, the UK's Leading Independent show for projects, programmes process and resource, scheduled for 22 - 23 March 2016 at the National Conference Centre, Birmingham.  The presentation called "Taking an Improved Heritage Project Management System to a Focused Delivery Culture for a large NHS Hospital Capital Expenditure Directorate" will showcase the jointly created “Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Way of Project Management”.

The STH has proactively developed its estates capital project management approach to align with RIBA 2013 and to improve internal controls.  The presentation will outline the advancement of the knowledge of the Project Management process via two main linked knowledge delivery steps, the PM’s understanding of the Project Process, and Improving PM skills.   Key was engendering a culture to make the system clear and correctly focused for the Project Management team to deliver the business case for the hospital for a significant £multimillion annual project delivery outcome.

The new focused project management programme is envisaged to enable capital projects delivery to more efficient thereby maximising the available NHS CAPEX budget and timeliness of the project delivery.
